Sankara Pinnacle Award – A Moment of Pride

We are proud to share that the Department of Biotechnology at Sri Sankara Arts and Science College (Autonomous) has been honoured with the Sankara Pinnacle Award for the academic year 2025–2026.

This prestigious recognition highlights the commitment of the department to academic excellence. The award was presented in appreciation of the successful organization of value-added courses, workshops, and collaborations with healthcare and research institutions, and notable academic outputs, including research publications, book chapters, and book contributions. This achievement reflects the dedication of faculty members, students, and collaborators who continuously support research in the field of biotechnology.

We cordially congratulate our department faculty members, Dr D. Chithra and Dr S. Vinodhini, who won 1st place in Women's Badminton [Doubles], and M Lavanya, a 2nd MSc Biotechnology student, who won 3^rd place in Badminton [Singles]. Dr P. Saravanan is coordinating the sports activity for our department for the Annual Sports Day 2025-26.

Ms Devi J, from 2^nd M.Sc. Biotechnology gave a presentation on “EUTROPHICATION: causes, consequences and mitigation strategies”. Department staff, Research Scholars, and Students participated in the meeting.

AI-driven pharmaceuticals integrate machine learning, deep learning, and computational modelling to enhance drug discovery and development. These methods enable target identification, in-silico molecule design, prediction of pharmacokinetics and toxicity, optimisation of clinical trial design, and data-driven precision medicine, thereby increasing efficiency, accuracy, and translational success in pharmaceutical research.
