Department of Biotechnology – Proud Achievement

 The PG & Research Department of Biotechnology, Sri Sankara Arts and Science College (Autonomous), is proud and delighted to announce that the following faculty members have been granted Approval of Qualification to Hold the Post of Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology, as prescribed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the University of MadrasThe Department of Biotechnology expresses its heartfelt gratitude to our beloved Principal, Dr. K. R. Venkatesan, for his constant encouragement, unwavering support, and inspiring leadership. We also extend our sincere thanks to our esteemed Visiting Professor, Dr. R. Watson and Crick Forum Invitation

Career Development Programme Presention held on 10/07/2026

In our biotechnology career development programme of our Watson and Crick Forum, Mr Jagannathan has given a wonderful and most inspiring talk to the students, sharing his knowledge.




At the end of the session, students were discussing with the resource person and clarified their doubts. 


We sincerely thank Mr. Jagannathan for sharing his valuable knowledge and insights on the scope of biotechnology with the students. His informative session helped the students understand the wide opportunities and future potential in this field. We truly appreciate his time, effort, and guidance, which inspired and motivated the students to learn more about biotechnology.

Invitation of Career development programme in Watson and Crick Forum


The PG & Research Department of Biotechnology is consistently inspiring and motivating students by developing their communication skills through scientific presentations in our Watson and Crick Forum. In continuation to motivate studnets here we invite students to participate the career development programme on the topic entitled "Career paths in the Life Sciences"on 10/07/2026.

Watson and Crick Forum Presentation on 09/07/2026

In the Watson and Crick forum, PG and Research Department of Biotechnology, Sri Sankara Arts and Science College, organised a student forum meet on 09/07/2026 from 1:00 to 1:30 PM.

K. Yoganathan from 2nd M.Sc. Biotechnology gave a presentation on “Molecular Diagnosis techniques in oncology”. Department staff, Research Scholars and Students participated in the meeting.

The welcome address was given by Dr. B. Ramesh, HOD and Convenor

______K. Yoganathan______ gave a detailed presentation on Molecular Diagnosis techniques in oncology. Students participated in the meet and during the questionnaire session.

The forum meeting was over by 1:30 PM, with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Harishkumar Rajendran, coordinator of the Watson and Crick forum.
