Inauguration Ceremony of the Diploma Programme in Andrology and Medical Lab Technology 2026-2027

The Fifth Inauguration Ceremony of the Diploma Programme in Andrology and Medical Lab Technology was organized by the Department of Biotechnology at Sri Sankara Arts and Science College on 29 June 2026.The programme was inaugurated by our beloved Principal Dr. R. Venkatesan, who presided over the function and delivered the inaugural address.  Dr. B. Ramesh Professor & Head, PG & Research Department of Biotechnology, welcomed the gathering. Mr. R. Purushothaman, Managing Director of Dr. Borus Institute, introduced the Diploma Programme in Andrology and Medical Lab Technology. He explained that Andrology is an important branch of medical laboratory science focusing on the diagnosis and management of male infertility. The programme covers advanced laboratory techniques such as semen analysis, sperm cryopreservation, sperm preparation for IUI and IVF procedures, and sperm processing. He further highlighted that one of the major strengths of the diploma programme is its extensive hands-on practical training. Students gain the necessary technical skills required to work in modern medical laboratories. They will also have the opportunity to analyze patient samples using advanced laboratory equipment under the guidance of experienced professionals. Finally, Dr. V. Guruchandran, Assistant Professor, proposed the vote of thanks. More than 200 college students participated in the programme and benefited from the session.
