Description: Azolla
cultivation involves growing the floating water fern, typically in shallow,
shaded ponds lined with plastic, that contains a symbiotic blue-green algae
responsible for atmospheric nitrogen fixation. For successful growth, azolla
needs 5-10 cm of water at a temperature of 20-35°C, a water pH between 5-7, and
an adequate supply of phosphorus.
