Watson and Crick Forum Presentation held on 17th Feb 2026

In the Watson and Crick forum, PG and Research Department of Biotechnology, Sri Sankara Arts and Science College, organised a student forum meet held on 17th February 2026 from 1:00 to 1:30 PM.

Ms. S. KIRTANA from 1st M.Sc. Biotechnology gave a presentation on “Oxford Nanopore R10.4 long-read sequencing enables the generation of near-finished bacterial genomes from pure cultures and metagenomes without short-read or reference polishing”. Department staff, Research Scholars, and Students participated in the meeting.

The welcome address was given by Dr B. Ramesh, HOD and Convenor

   Ms. S. KIRTANA have given a detailed presentation on “Oxford Nanopore R10.4 long-read sequencing enables the generation of near-finished bacterial genomes from pure cultures and metagenomes without short-read or reference polishing”. Students participated in the meet and during the questionnaire session.

The forum meeting was over by 1:30 PM, with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr R. Harishkumar, coordinator of the Watson and Crick forum.
